The Summer Begins!

Well I am not much of a journal writer. I used to be when I was younger. Since I have been married and then children, I haven't really taken the time. I think it is important to write the many things that are happening in our lives. We live so far from family and many friends that this will hopefully keep us in your thoughts.

The summer is starting out hot. The girls are swimming everyday. They are growing so fast. Megan just finished 3rd grade. She had a great year and loves school. Her teacher, Ms. Merideth Merdick, was a fabullous teacher and she was a great friend to Megan. Hailey just finished 1st grade. She also had a great year. It started out a little shakey, but it seemed to get on track and finished very well. Both of the girls had outstanding report cards and we were very proud.

Marcus is working very hard these days. It is getting too hot for the average person to golf. But we all know that Marcus will play in triple digit weather. He has made quite a few new friends since moving back to Arizona. He became somewhat of a social butterfly when we lived in Utah. And that has continued since our move.

I am trying to get a preschool ready to start in the fall. With both girls in school full-time I have way to much free time on my hands. But I still want to be available for field trips and volunteering at the school. So I am excited. It is something I have always wanted to do and so now seems to be the perfect time.

All in all, life is pretty good at the Maloneys. The girls and I are headed to Utah to visit Grandma and hang out with Aunt Julie. We will stay for a week or so and then come back to face the heat. We are anxious to see family and friends that we haven't seen since Thanksgiving. We have only been back once since our move last August.

In July we are going to Michigan to visit the other side of our family. We are all excited about that. We try to go every year but last year we weren't able to go because of the move. Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Rick and Adam visited on Mother's Day. They spent one night with us. We wished it was longer. But it got us excited to see everyone else that we haven't seen for almost 2 years. Especially Grandma Weezy and Pappa Jim. We miss them very much.

So thats it for now. I hope to make this page look better with a little personality. I haven't learned that much about "blogging" yet. So we shall see.
